Instructions
Preheat & Prepare the Butter
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
Place butter in an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish and let it melt in the preheating oven (about 5 minutes). Remove once fully melted.
Make the Biscuit Dough
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Pour in buttermilk and gently mix until a sticky dough forms. If the dough feels too dry, add a bit more buttermilk.
Gently fold in the blueberries and vanilla extract (if using), being careful not to overmix.
Bake the Biscuits
Pour the biscuit dough directly into the melted butter in the baking dish.
Use a knife to score the dough into 9 squares for easy portioning.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Make the Glaze & Finish
While the biscuits bake, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over warm biscuits for an extra touch of sweetness.
Serve & Enjoy!
Serve warm, as-is, or with honey, jam, or extra butter!
